Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Jan 17
(from the upper part of the Clos): Healthy dark red with ruby tones. Brooding aromas of black cherry, violet and crushed rock. In a powerful, firmly structured style; almost medicinal compared to Fourrier's estate wines. Highly concentrated but I'm not sure I would identify this distinctly austere wine blind as coming from Fourrier. Finishes very long, with a serious tannc spine. A wine like this is almost sure to close down in the bottle.
